OUR MISSION

Mind Over Matter Kids was developed years ago, after a few special education teachers realized that, while the schools are doing what they can to help, there is much more to be done!  A few Ph.D. students began studying about comprehensive evaluations and realized the wealth of information that can be gained by individualized approaches to evaluations and reports.  While our lives took us down different paths, we each had the incredible opportunity to study under accomplished experts in the field of education.

The traditional school setting is often difficult for many students. Students who are gifted and talented need distinct instruction to empower them to continue to grow. Some students have a more difficult time staying seated or focused on learning, for their learning opportunities and may need supports. Other students may do well in most areas but, for some reason, just can’t seem to get the skill of reading or math down.  Whatever the reason, all students need individualized approaches. Mind Over Matter Kids helps identify what those individual needs are, and provides recommendations to schools to help execute those approaches effectively.  

As teachers, we know that there are always new opportunities to learn. Our specialty is working with teachers and offering training sessions to help them grow in their understanding of students' needs. It is important to us to find ways to consolidate information into an approach that is both engaging & informative.

A comprehensive approach would not be complete without also supporting the parents.  As parents ourselves, we know that you want the BEST for your child. The school system is overwhelming and sometimes difficult to navigate and understand. We offer a compassionate approach to help parents understand the school system and guide them through processes to obtain the help and services the child deserves.
